Empty pocket

Figures from the Central Statistics Office have shown that Donegal people have the least amount of disposable income in Ireland.

The grim statistics were released earlier this morning, and have revealed that Donegal are bottom of the pile when it comes to disposable income.

The Donegal figures are €15,558 euro per year, compared to the state wide figure of over €19,309.

The figures shows disposal income levels in Donegal similar to that in 2006 with the figure peaking in 2008.

From 2013 to 2014 there was a national increase in disposable income of 700, in Donegal the figure rose by just 420 euro.

It’s a worrying statistic for business in Donegal, and reiterates it once again that the ‘recovery’ being touted has yet to come to fruition to many families in Donegal.
