MICHAEL MURPHY TO LAUNCH DONEGAL’S DARKNESS INTO LIGHT 2016

unnamed-9Donegal GAA Captain Michael Murphy will join Joan Freeman, founder of suicide and self-harm crisis centre Pieta House to launch Darkness into Light 2016 with Electric Ireland in The Station House Hotel, Letterkenny on Friday, March 4th at 7pm.

Taking place on Saturday, 7th of May, Darkness into Light is a unique, early morning fundraising event which begins in darkness at 4.15am as thousands of people walk or run a 5km route while dawn is breaking.

This year, Darkness into Light will take place in more than 100 locations in Ireland and abroad including in the US, the UK, Scotland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand the Middle East and Asia.

The event is set to be the biggest ever in Donegal with 7 venues on board to host it including Donegal Town, Maghery, Letterkenny and for the first time Buncrana, Arranmore Island, Falcarragh and Tory Island.

Registration and route information for Darkness into Light will be available at dil.pieta.ie from March 7th and all are welcome to attend the launch in Donegal.
