Tim and Kirsty out on their first date. But will there be another one?

Donegal Independent candidate Tim Jackson appears may not have been elected to the Dail but he has become a winner in the love election.

The 25 year old first-time candidate from Ballybofey went on a date with a young lady after she asked what would it take to get his phone number.

She wrote on his Facebook page “Tim…I have nearly wracked the car on numerous occasions smiling up at your face on the roads … If this election was going on looks, you would get my No.1.”

He replied he would be delighted – if his Facebook likes reached more than 4,000.

He duly did and Tim and Kirsty Buchanan from Killybegs enjoyed a lovely night out on the night before polling day.

So much so that he is hopeful of securing another date with Kirsty very soon – and this time there are not conditions attached!

“It won’t be based on Facebook likes or anything like that but hopefully on mutual affection.

“I certainly had a lovely time on our date and I would like to go on another date with her but that’s down to her,” said Tim.

After receiving a very commendable 5,864 votes, Tim now plans a holiday in France.
