BOXING: Donegal pugilist Shaun Mc Shane will fight for the Scottish Lightweight Title this Friday night.

Mc Shane faces a formidable opponent in the form of Eddie Doyle, in what promises to be an intriguing tussle between two fighters renowned for their ability to never back down.

In Scotland, Boxing experts are predicted that the fight has all the ingredients to be a cracker, and with a title up for grabs – it could be a war.

Mc Shane only turned professional a few years ago, but his massive desire and hunger has won him an army of fight fans in Scotland.

The connection between Donegal and Glasgow is huge, and Mc Shane will bring a healthy crowd of followers to Ravenscraig, Motherwell on Friday night.

Mc Shane told Donegal Daily, “I can’t wait for the fight, it’s obviously massive that there’s a title on the line for me, and I want it bad.

“I’ve trained hard like I always do for everyone of my fights, but this is a little different because obviously there’s the carrot of a Scottish Lightweight Title for the winner.

“Eddie Doyle is a great boxer, it won’t be easy, but I’ve prepared well and feel that I have the tools and game-plan to execute a win.

“I’ve had a good camp, and I just can’t wait for the fight now, there’s a big crowd coming from home and they’ll be a big gang from Glasgow travelling to so hopefully I’ll give them something to cheer on Friday night.”
