COUNCIL STAFF WORK THROUGH THE NIGHT TO CLEAR ROADS OF SNOW

Snow plough COUNCIL staff have worked through the night to keep the main roads in Donegal open after overnight snow.

The falls weren’t as bad as forecast.

But there was about 3cm on higher ground.

Pictured is one council crew earlier this morning.

A status yellow Wind Warning for the whole country remains in place until 6pm.

West to northwest winds will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65 km/h with gusts between 90 and 110 km/h today.

The new warning was issued at 9am.
