More than 14,000 home across Donegal will benefit from upgraded broadband.

More than 14,000 home across Donegal will benefit from upgraded broadband.

Eir has announced the locations of its new rural fibre broadband rollout.

And a total of more than 14,000 home across Donegal are set to benefit from the plan which will see super-fast broadband.

However many homes in many areas will not receive the upgraded broadband to enable home entertainment heaven!

Surprisingly Donegal’s biggest town, Letterkenny, is only getting 760 homes upgraded compared with say Ballybofey which will see 780 homes upgraded.

The company says that it will connect 100,000 homes and businesses in rural and regional locations across all 26 counties over the next 12 months.

It says that the service will be a fibre broadband product that delivers 1Gbs, equivalent to 1,000Mbs.

Here is a list of locations across Donegal, by town, and the number of houses/businesses to be covered as part of the initial fibre rollout:
