BOOKIES are offering odds of 2/1 of a return to the polling booths by May.

BoyleSports has opened up a market on what month will the next General Election take place and it’s after July 2016 that heads the betting at 8/15.

May 2016 isn’t an outsider and is currently the second favourite at 2/1 with April 2016 priced at 5/1 and June 2016 on offer at 7/1. 14/1 is the price on offer that we will be heading to the polling stations for a second time in 2016 in the month of July.

A new favourite has emerged as to who will make up the 32nd Dáil and it’s currently 4/6 that it will be a Fine Gael Minority with original favourite, a Fine Gael/Fianna Fáil coalition still a possible runner but eased out slightly to 13/8 from 11/8.

A Fianna Fáil minority is priced at 10/1 with a Fine Gael/Fianna Fáil/Labour coalition double the price at 20/1.

Liam Glynn, BoyleSports’ spokesperson said: “The General Election is just a week gone and already we are seeing plenty of interest in a second election date for 2016 with after July 2016 proving extremely popular already at its current odds-on price of 8/15.”

He added “A Fine Gael minority was as big as 9/1 last Saturday after the general election but following further support it’s now odds-on at 4/6 and continues to attract support with the original favourite of a Fine Gael/Fianna Fáil coalition eased slightly out to 13/8.”
