Neil McGee will learn if he faces a suspension or not – when disciplinary chiefs meet to discuss some of the unsavoury incidents that occurred on Sunday afternoon later today.
McGee was left with a blooded nose after he was struck several times in the face by Kerry forward Alan Fitzgerald.
However, McGee is in hot water after he was caught on camera pulling the fingers of thw Kerry forward, that sparked his furious reaction.
Kerry star James O’Donoghue has claimed McGee was attempting to break Fitzgerald’s fingers.
Former Kerry player Paul Galvin condoned Fitzgerald’s actions, and says McGee deserved to get ‘popped’ in the nose, and that it had been coming to McGee for a long time.
Fitzgerald is set to be hit with a one game ban for punching McGee.
The length of suspension McGee will receive is unclear, although if he hit with a Category Four charge he could receive a minimum two-week ban for inflicting injury recklessly on an opponent.
The fallout from Sunday’s game has sparked plenty of comment nationally.
