ATHLETICS: A Donegal Primary school has been crowned All-Ireland Sports-Hall champions at the national event in Athlone last week.

On Wednesday, March 9th, the 3rd and 4th class teams and the 5th and 6th class teams from Scoil Cholmcille, Letterkenny, travelled to AIT International Arena in Athlone to represent Donegal in the All Ireland Sportshall Finals 2016.

They competed against 15 other regional teams in 12 tough track and field events.

The 5th and 6th class team won their overall competition and have secured the title of All Ireland Sportshall Champions 2016 for the second time!

They previously secured this title in 2014.

The 3rd and 4th class team won silver in their category, a fabulous achievement in 12 tough events.

These boys, together with their coaches trained tirelessly since November 15 for these competitions and their hard work and enthusiasm has paid off.

Their coaches, Mrs Eilis McClafferty, Mrs Carmel McMacken and Mr Peter Kelly paid tribute to the fantastic work these boys have put in and are so proud of them!

Well Done!
