We will also have an underage blitz at 10.30am with our Seniors on at 12pm. Enjoy our national holiday in the traditional way, with the GAA. We would love to see some new faces come down. Come have breakfast and enjoy the national games.

Recycling Bin

Buncrana GAA has a recycle bin at The Scarvey. Anyone who wishes to place old clothes, shoes, curtains, towels etc… can do so. This helps raise funds for the club. Open for anyone to use.

Club Lotto

This weeks Lotto numbers were, 9, 11, 14, 20. There was no winner. Next weeks jackpot will be €1200.

Anyone who may have information on GAA in the Buncrana area around 1916 is asked to contact the club. May be of interest to some of our local Historians!

Bord Na nOg

Minor (U18)

Well done to our minors who drew with Glenswilly on Sunday in the minor league in a hard fought battle. Plenty more to come from this side.

Training this Tuesday. Assemble for 6.45pm, starting at 7pm.

U8 boys Gaelic football

Coaching continues in the youth club in Buncrana every Monday at 6:30pm and now every Wednesday in the Illies hall at 6:30pm for one hour.  The underage training contribution is one payment of 2 euro per week for one or multiple sessions including football and/or hurling.  New players always welcome anytime.

Hurling

The U14 hurlers had a fantastic weekend in the Donegal Féile na nGael. The first games kicked off at 2’oclock with Buncrana playing Dungloe/Gweedore. The boys were really on form from when the whistle was  blown with some fantastic scores and great determination from them. They were far too strong for the opposition which gave them victory of the scores. The next game was against St  Eunans and it was a totally different game the boys seem to have lost their mojo because it was a hard battle to half time with a very low score and at half time it was 0-2 to 0-1 to Buncrana. They came out in the second half and still it was much the same as before half time it just wasn’t going the way it should have been and at the final whistle the teams ended up with draw 0-3 to 0-3. This left the boys needing to win the next game which was against Burt. When the referee threw in the ball you could see the hunger in Buncrana boys eyes you think it was a completely different team because they started to take some fantastic scores and started to play some brilliant hurling they just didn’t give Burt  half a chance in the game to score. They really took the games to another level and ended up beating Burt by 3-7 to 0-0. The boys really deserved  becoming Donegal Féile Champions because of all the hard work all year. Well Done Boys

Girls

Thursday: U8 6pm-7pm . U10 & U12 7pm-8pm in Scoil Mhuire. Bring water and gumshields and €2.
