WORLD IRISH DANCE CHAMPIONS TO PERFORM AT MEVAGH ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE

FEATURES: Mevagh’s annual St Patricks Day parade preparations are well underway. This year the theme is ‘1916-2016 commemorations’.

Mevagh St Patricks Parade has developed into a major attraction both in Carrigart and surrounding areas and gives everyone the chance to showcase the creativity we have in our local area.

This is our 6th year and the event is gowing from strength to strength and attracting international media coverage. “Small Town Big Parade” Eileen Maginer RTE News.

Floats are coming fast, and we hope to build on the success of previous years.

The parade will commence at 1pm and the ever popular John Bosco will be entertaining the crowd from 12.30. There will also be a selection of Irish Dancers, including Gavin and Niamh Shevlin, Claire Cloghan, Muff both World Irish Dance Champions, and members of Eve Mc Gettigan School of Irish dance.

Booking forms are available in Carrigart Hotel, Logues Bar, Sheephaven Credit Union or from our Facebook page ‘Mevagh St Patrick’s Day Parade’

Please note there will be traffic diversions in place around Carrigart from 12.15pm on St. Patrick’s Day.

A final meeting will take place on Monday 14th March in Mevagh Heritage Centre at 8pm. Anyone interested in helping out with this year’s parade, or if anyone would like help with their floats, please contact 086 8347708.
