Finn Harps clash with Sligo Rovers has been incredibly abandoned in the 87th minute after floodlight failure in The Showgrounds!

Harps had been trailing Sligo after Chris Lyons headed past Richard Brush in the 11th minute.

However, a spirited second-half from Harps saw them pepper the Sligo rear-guard – and got their just rewards in the 83rd minute.

Damien McNulty, not known for his goal scoring exploits fired an unstoppable volley past Sligo keeper Michael Schlingermann.

However, just minutes later the power went out – players and officials waited fifteen minutes before referee Padraig Sutton decided to abandon the game.

What will happen next will be up to the FAI, and there’s a strong possibility the game could be replayed.
