cross-of-christ-0104TRIBUTES have been paid to the 30-year-old woman who died in a road traffic collision in Donegal.

Christina Ward, from Kinlough in Co Leitrim, passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital on Thursday, the day after a crash outside Newtowncunningham at 8.30am on Wednesday.

Christina, a marketing and business studies graduate, had been living in Letterkenny.

She was on her way to work as a customer sales manager in Derry when her car was in collision with another vehicle.

She was rushed to hospital but died yesterday afternoon.

A man in his 40s in the other vehicle involved in the collision was taken to hospital and was treated for minor injuries.

Communities in Letterkenny and Kinlough have paid tribute to Christina today.

“She was a lovely caring person with a heart of gold,” one close friend told Donegal Daily.

“We are just devastated she was taken from us so young.”

Christina’s remains are reposing at the family home at 18 Glenview, Kinlough, County Leitrim.

Removal is on Sunday at 6.30pm, arriving at St Aidan’s Church, Kinlough, for 7pm.

Her funeral Mass will be held at St Aidan’s on Monday at 11am, with burial afterwards in St. Aidan’s Cemetery.

The family has asked for donations in lieu of flowers to the ICU Department at Letterkenny University Hospital, care of Gilmartin Funeral Directors.
