Despite racing into an early two goal lead Gweedore had to rely on an injury time equaliser from Shane Porter to earn a draw against Cappry. Jamie Boyle had the home team two up in the first ten minutes but Cappry pulled one back through Alan Patton just before the break. One minute into the second half Thomas Diver had a chance to restore his teams two goal advantage but he miss-hit with the goal at his mercy. Cappry went in search of the equaliser and got it from a free kick by Darren O’ Leary with fifteen minutes remaining. Cappry seemed to have grabbed all three points when Colm Melaugh pounced to score in the 90th minute. In injury time a Michael Roarty corner was finished by Porter to level the game. Milford United 2 Castlefin Celtic 0
Milford United joined Drumoghill F.C. at the top of the Premier Division with a hard fought win over Castlefin on Sunday afternoon. Milford started the game at a blistering pace, playing some of their best football of the season, and were two up at half time, but really should have been further ahead. The first goal came on 15 minutes when Johnny Logue directed a Paul Nash shot in to the corner of the net. PJ Hagan had two glorious chances pushed over the bar by the visiting keeper before he broke on the right side of the field and unleashed a magnificent finish to the bottom corner. Gary Merritt’s excellent free kick hit the post before Hagan again from the right blasted over the bar. Castlefin, in the second half, came more into the game and Milford worked hard to keep them at bay with Johnny Logue and Caolan Mc Gettigan making a few good blocks to keep them out. Merritt, Hagan, Duffy and Serrinha all had good chances to extend the lead. Milford have three games to play and need maximum points to be in with any chance of Silverware.

Kilmacrennan Celtic 2 Rathmullan Celtic 2
Kilmacrennan and Rathmullan played out a very evenly contested draw in Letterkenny.
Kilmacrennan took the lead after Michael McLaughlin fed Chris Dillon who played a fine through ball to Daire McDaid who raced through and finished well. Rathmullan equalised through a long range effort from Dara Patton and were then awarded a penalty but Jason Hegarty made a fine save. Rathmullan then took the lead through Eamonn Sheridan. Kilmac then lost John Sandilands due to a weakness in his shoulder. The second half was very even bit Kilmacrennan bagged a late equaliser when a Dara McDaid penalty left Mark Gallagher in goal with no chance. It finished 2-2 which was a fair result. Team performances from both sides but Michael McLaughlin took man of the match with another towering display.

Kerrykeel were bright in the first half with a strong wind on their back and had the
Lifford defence under pressure for periods. They were limited to half chances as Lifford’s hard working back four led by centre half Martin kept them at bay. Lifford took the lead in the first few minutes of the 2nd half as striker Hamilton held the ball up with his back to goal and when spotting the run of his strike partner Colin Carlin played a fine ball over his shoulder to allow Carlin to race clear of the defence and round the keeper before slotting into the net. Lifford got their second on 60 minutes when a shot from Carlin was parried by the keeper and Hamilton was first to react with a finish into the bottom corner. Kerrykeel pushed hard after this to try and get into the game but never really troubled the Lifford keeper. Lifford nearly made it three when a fine move down the left between Carlin and Roulston was almost finished by Mc Nulty at the back post but he headed over. Lagan Harps 4 Bonagee United 0
Lagan kept up their title challenge with a home win over local rivals Bonagee. Bonagee went close on two minutes when Austin Marron beat the offside trap. Jason Quinn did well to knock his effort away with his feet. Lagan went close on eight minutes when Kenny Doran headed a corner against the bar. Lagan took the lead on twenty minutes when Mark Hunter diverted a Gerard Hilley shot past the keeper. It was two nil five minutes later when Kenny Doran’s shot was spilled by the keeper who then brought Mark Hunter down as he went for the rebound. Hunter got up to fire home the penalty. Bonagee responded with efforts from Glen Rainey and Austin Marron just off target. Lagan got their third on forty minutes when Chris Toner headed back across goal and Kenny Doran headed in. Glen Rainey then headed against the bar as Bonagee looked to respond. Lagan made it four on halftime when Mark Hunter fired home a Chris Toner cross. The second half started as the first with Austin Marron beating the offside trap. Although he rounded the keeper he shot across goal from a narrow angle. Glen Rainey headed against the bar for Bonagee on sixty minutes and Lagan’s Kevin Kelly hit the post on seventy minutes. Neither team was able to muster a score as the game petered out. For Lagan Seamie People’s, Chris Toner and Mark Hunter were best. For Bonagee Oisin Kelly and Glen Rainey were best. Referee: Micky Mulhern.
Donegal Town 5 Keadue Rovers 0
Donegal Town dominated this game from start to finish and rarely looked threatened throughout. Danny Mc Garrigle put Donegal ahead after only 3 minutes when he ran onto a short free kick and hammered the ball into the roof of the net from 20 yards. Daniel McHugh doubled Donegal’s lead within 5 minutes. Following a nice one two pass with Joe McIntyre, McHugh tapped the ball in from less than 5 yards. David Graham got Donegal’s third of the first half when he headed Ciaran O’Reilly’s cross into the net from close range. Donegal continued the second half in a similar fashion. Graham converted a Stephen Curneen cross for Donegal’s fourth goal. Joe McIntyre rounded off the scoring for Donegal when he turned his marker and placed the ball neatly into the bottom corner.
Cranford United 4 Gweedore United 2
Cranford went ahead early when Andrew Kelly turned smartly and fired in from close range. Both teams had good chances to score before the half time whistle but were unable to find the net. Gweedore came out on the attack after the break and were rewarded with the equaliser however Kelly got his second not long after to restore Cranford’s lead, and completed his hat-trick, his third of the season, to give Cranford what looked like a comfortable lead. However, to Gweedore’s credit, they came back fighting and found the net with 15 minutes left to give them a chance, but this was short lived as Caolan McGee broke the offside trap and finished neatly past the keeper.

Deele entertained Ballybofey in odd circumstances at The Athletic Grounds. The powers that be made the decision to resume the action with only the remaining 17 minutes to be played of the game previously abandoned with Deele leading 1-0 through Shane Gallagher’s goal and that’s the way it stayed with Deele withstanding a Ballybofey onslaught as the visitors went for broke. St. Catherines opened the scoring on 35 minutes when Stevie Anderson scored from the penalty spot after a handball in the area. John Joe Mc Ginley put the home team two up on 70 minutes with a neat finish from close range. Kieran Blaney scored on 75 minutes for Milford and James Wilson equalised on 85 minutes after a finish from close range. Good performance from both teams. Referee: George Clinton
Drumoghill F.C. Reserves 5 Donegal Town Reserves 4
Played in windy conditions this game did not disappoint the fans. Drumoghill just held on as they had a five goal lead before Donegal staged a great comeback. Drumoghill playing with the aid off the wind in the first half took the lead on twenty minutes direct from a Ethan Mc Cready corner. Drumoghill got a second when Mc Cready turned provider with a well-placed cross into Carlos Rodger which he headed home from close range. Drumoghill’s third arrived on forty minutes when John Rodgers hit a screamer from thirty five yards to beat the Donegal net minder. Drumoghill started the second half well and added goal number four through Mark Gibson after John Maddigan played a lovely ball in behind the Donegal defence. Goal number five arrived two minutes later when Liam O’ Donnell chipped the keeper after a great solo run from mid-field. Drumoghill seemed to switch off after this and Donegal got right back into the game with two quick goals from Ted Bustard to give his team a fighting chance. Donegal where now pushing for every ball and got their third goal when Gary Ward reacted well to a loose ball in the Drumoghill box to slot home with ten minutes remaining. Ward was again on the mark in the ninetieth minute from a corner kick slotting home a loose ball at the back post. Good team performances from both teams

Glencar Celtic have booked their Voodoo Venue Cup Final place courtesy of a penalty shoot-out victory over newly crowned League Champions Arranmore United. Glencar’s dominance bore fruit on the hour mark when Declan Scanlon put them into the lead. Their advantage was short-lived however and Michael Mc Hugh was the man who got Gerry Earley’s side level. The game went to penalties and the Letterkenny outfit prevailed.

Two Martin Maguire goals in a ten minute second half spell send Tommy Mc Fadden’s Glenea United Reserves into the Voodoo Venue Cup Final where they will face Glencar Celtic. Strand Rovers had a couple of half chances in the match but the Glasserchoo men are having a good season and are also in line for League Honours. The Inaugural Voodoo Venue Cup Final is sure to be an entertaining match between two well-rehearsed sides.
