The real Shay Given!
A man posing as Donegal soccer star Shay Given has pulled the wool over the eyes of Sky Sports.
With the news that Stoke’s first-choice goalkeeper Jack Butland has been ruled out for three months, Sky Sports News sought Given’s reaction.
But the man on the end of the line did not sound anything like the Donegal native.
The mystery caller said: “It’s an absolutely massive blow for Jack but it’s an opportunity for myself.
“I’d like to wish him all the best with his injury but let’s see what the season brings.”
Not alone did the man not sound like he was from Lifford or even Donegal, he didn’t even sound Irish!
