Concerns have been raised over the dangers that might arise from the proposed dredging of Killybegs harbour.

The Killybegs Community Council has just announced that it has been advised that the Department of the Marine has plans to dredge this busy harbour shortly.

The Community Council is drafting an appeal to ensure all waste and any toxic matter is removed from the harbour area and disposed far away from it.

They’ve appealed to the locals that if this concerns them or they’ve already raised an objection, they could contact the Community Council.

A spokesperson said they could be reached at killybegscommunitycouncil@gmail.com or by private message for details.

“We need everyone concerned at this possibility to raise their objections ,” he said.
