COMMUNITY ALERT: Garda have launched an investigation today following the attempted abduction of two young girls yesterday evening in Drumkeen.
A man driving a red transporter van approached two little girls and asked them to jump into his van and he would take them for sweets
What the man driving the van didn’t know was that the girls grandmother was along with them – and was crouching down to pick up something when he pulled up to approach the two girls.
He didn’t see the grandmother but he quickly sped off when she shouted at him to get away from the children.
The man is described as being clean shaven and looked like he was in his 60’s.
The incident occurred around 6.15pm yesterday evening in Drumkeen.
He appeared to be driving a red transporter van.
Garda have launched an investigation into the incident and have asked all parents to remain vigilant.
