The late Michael Carr.

The late Michael Carr.

The man who died after he fell while working repairing a house in Falcarragh on Tuesday has been named.

The victim was Michael Carr, a married father of two young children from Derryconner in Gortahork.

Mr Carr, who was in his mid 30s, fell while working on a house outside Falcarragh at 9am on Tuesday morning.

He was rushed to Letterkenny University Hospital but sadly died later from
his injuries.

There is huge sadness at the death of Mr Carr who is married to a
local teacher Louise Carr (nee Coll).

The couple have two children aged 3 and just six months.

Local county councillor Micheal MacGiolla Easbuig said the area is
devastated by the tragedy.

“People are just in shock that this has happened to a young man with
his whole life ahead of him with a wife and two lovely children.

“Michael went out to do an honest day’s work and he is taken from us
in such tragic circumstances.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Louise, their two children and to
his extended family. It is just awful,” he said.

A full investigation into the tragic death has been launched by the
Health and Safety Authority.

His removal from The Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny took place last night going to his late residence with funeral arrangements to be made later.
