LIFFORD BRIDGE RE-OPENS AFTER ‘SUSPICIOUS’ CAR DEEMED SAFE

The bridge between Lifford and Strabane has re-opened this morning after police deemed an abandoned car safe.

The bridge was closed overnight and a bomb disposal team brought in on the Strabane side of the bridge.

The operation as launched after what had appeared to be abandoned car was left beside the road.

However the area was declared safe this morning and the car was removed.
