SWIMMING: SWILLY SEALS COMPETE IN ULSTER PROVINCIAL TOWNS LEAGUE

IMG_1996-20160418-201727219Eleven swimmers took part in the Swim Ulster Provincial Towns League end of season gala on the 16th April in Ballymena.

These swimmers qualified for this competition at a time trial held in Letterkenny for all the North Ulster clubs recently.

Joyce Hudy had a fine outing lifting gold medals in the 50m Breaststroke and 50m Freestyle. She also won silver in the 100m Individual Medley.

Jonathon Martin showed class in the 50m Butterfly and 100m Individual Medley picking up silver in both events, he also lifted bronze in the 50m backstroke.Filip Blazejczak won silver in the 50m backstroke and bronze in the 50m freestyle a fine reward for this young swimmer.Sinead O’Kane picked up bronze in the 50m breaststroke in a thrilling race.

Fourth place finishes were attained by Bronagh Sheridan 50m breaststroke, Chloe Shiels 50m breaststroke, Thomas Coyle 50m breaststroke and Grainne Russell in the 50m butterfly.

Personal best times were also achieved by Peter Coyle in the 50m breaststroke and Thomas Keys in the 50m breaststroke also. Ellie Maloney also achieved a new personal best time in the 50m freestyle.

A huge congratulations to these swimmers on their achievements and well done to the North Ulster team which they were part of that defeated the South Ulster team.
