ANOTHER BRILLIANT NORTH WEST 10K RAISES THOUSANDS FOR CHARITY

IT may not have been the kindest weather for May 1, but the 20th running of the North West 10k still drew huge crowds of walkers and runners – all raising vital funds for charity.

The two charities to benefit from this year’s event are the Donegal branch of the Irish Pilgrimage Trust and also the Donegal branch of Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus.

Today’s event in Letterkenny was once again sponsored by Donegal Daily and Brian McCormick Sports.

Before a step was taken today the, event had raised a staggering €709,000 for 31 Donegal charities.

Athletes and walkers came from all over the North West once again today to support the event.

And it wasn’t all about fundraising – it was also about raising awareness, with students from Loreto Letterkenny collecting Steps4Syria – helping to raise awareness for refugees.
