Seniors/Reserves: Div 2 League***

It was a dramatic end to the game in Tir Chonaill Park on Saturday as Cloughaneely clinched a last second goal to come away with a draw, final Score 2-6 | 1-9. The boys kept the fight up until the bitter end despite missing a number of key players. Shaun McClafferty had one of his more busy days in nets; and a great job he did minding them! Both Cloughaneely goals came at crucial times – the 1st goal just before the half time whistle when Cillian Gallagher dropped a ball in front of the goals which Paul Sweeney guided past the keeper; leaving the score all square at half time at 1-4 to 1-4. The 2nd CCF goal was the result of the last attack of the game, when Cian McFadden found the back of the net.  Darren Ferry and Martin McGuire were point scorers for Cloughaneely! The lads will be happy to come away with 1 point from this game.

CCF Team: Shaun McClafferty, Eugene McGuire, Paul McFadden, Ciaran McFadden, Cian McFadden, Paddy Cannon, Lee O’Brien,  Ronan Cannon, Ciaran Scanlon, John McGarvey, Darren Ferry (0-4, 3F), Martin McGuire (0-2), Mark Harley, Paul Sweeney, Cillian Gallagher

Next Up: A home game this weekend as they play Milford on Saturday evening, reserves 6:00 pm , seniors 7:30 pm. Please keep an eye out on the Club Facebook/Twitter pages for any fixture changes.

***Lá na gClubanna****

Lá na gClubanna will be celebrated this year on Sunday May 8th. This is a day where we all, as a GAA community, get to celebrate our heritage, our existence, remember those valued members gone before us, and to acknowledge the role the GAA has in our community. The club will be having mass down at the GAA grounds on Sunday at 1 pm. Weather permitting it will be outdoors – otherwise we will move it inside the clubhouse. Afterwards tea and refreshments will be available in our club kitchen, which is adorned with photographs from years gone by. Our U-10 and U-12 teams will also be putting their skills on display on the pitch. Later that night there will be a Quiz held in the Shamrock! We would like encourage as many of you as possible to join us as we celebrate the important role the GAA community (members, players, supporters’ and families) has in our society.

***Quiz Night***

As part of our Lá na gClub celebrations, we will be holding a quiz in the Shamrock on Sunday May 8th, starting at 9:30 pm! If you’re free at all please call in and join in the fun!

***Club Lotto***

As part of a much needed fund raising initiative the club has just started up a weekly lotto draw. The tickets will be available from Club Officers and will also shortly be available in various shops and outlets throughout the parish. Tickets are €2 per line or €5 for 3 lines; with the option of a quick pick or pick your own numbers! The draw will take place each Wednesday night at the bingo in Óstan Loch Áltan! Your support in helping us keeping the club running from week to week is greatly appreciated! Many thanks to those who have volunteered their time in getting this lotto up and running!

***Club Meeting***

The next club meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 10th, at 8:30 pm in the club house.

***Minors***

Well done to our minors who win the Northern Board Div 2 League semi-final against Carndonagh last week – Full time Score: CCF 9-06 Carn 1-06. Well done to our Minors and Management!
