GAA NEWS: ST MICHAEL’S POWER PAST TERMON TO RECORD ANOTHER FINE WIN

St. Michael’s Notes

All County League

Both teams were at home to Termon in the All County League Division 1 on Saturday evening last.

The Reserves put on a very good display winning on a scoreline of St. Michael’s 2-9 Termon 0-5.

The St. Michael’s Team and scorers were: Dean Fleming, Hugh O Donnell, Darragh Mc Carry, Daniel Doak 0-1, Steven Coyle 0-2, Kieran Gallagher 1-0, Ryan Langan 1-0, James Sharkey, Thomas O Donnell, Denis Trearty , Caolin Toye ,Patrick McFadden, James Henry Alcorn 0-2 , Jamie Hunter, Ruari Friel 0-1. Subs: Brendan Rodden 0-1, Peter Sweeney, Paul Baird 0-1, Lorcan Mc Daid 0-1.

The seniors also put on a good performance to won on a scoreline of St. Michael’s 2-9 Termon 0-8.

Both teams are at home to Dungloe on this Saturday evening the 8th May with the throw ins at 6pm and 7.30pm at the Bridge.

Sub: Oisin Langan for B McLaughlin (4), Stephen Coyle for McGee (48), Chris McElhinney for C Kelly (56), James Henry Alcorn and Lorcan McDaid for R McLaughlin and Witherow (60+2).

St. Michael’s Lotto Rota

The names for the St. Michael’s Mini Lotto Rota for this Saturday night the 7th May Rose Toye and Brid Gallagher, Creeslough/Shandon Thomas O’Donnell, 14th May Dunfanaghy Charlie McFadden and Andrew Coll, Creeslough/Shandon Michael Cannon.

St. Michael’s Mini Lotto

There was no jackpot winner in the St. Michael’s Mini Lotto on Sunday night last.  The numbers drawn were 5,6,9,10,11,15.  This weeks Jackpot be €2050. Match 5 Winners were Michael McGinley Deryherriff, Mark Lagan Ards, Patricia Claire Coll Ballyboes and Hugh Boyle Gortnalake who won €25each. The Club would like to thank Brian and Margaret Anne Dolan, Molly’s Bar Dunfanaghy, Seamus Sweeney Kildarragh Construction Philadelphia, Shaun Langan Creeslough Pallets and Michael McColgan Dunfanaghy for their continuing sponsorship of the lotto jackpot, it is very much appreciated.

Tickets are on sale in local businesses in Dunfanaghy and Creeslough and at the Bingo Session in Massinass Community Centre Creeslough on Sunday evenings, tickets for the St. Michaels Mini Lotto can now also be purchased on line anywhere at at onlinelotto on facebook .

St. Michael’s Bingo Session

The winner of the €100 on the 5th Game at the Bingo Session in Dunfanaghy on Sunday night last was Kathleen Montgomery Dunmore Falcarragh, the winner of the €100 on the 9th Game was Bridget Sweeney Magheramena Dunfanaghy.

Every house New Car if you check on 45 Numbers or less with the Lucky number in the Panel and also called in the first five numbers of that game.

The Magic Number from 1 to 90 is drawn out every Sunday night before the bingo begins.  In addition every House winner will receive a free entry to the weekly lotto, this weeks Jackpot is €2100.  The single book is €8, Double, Double Book €12, Sheet €2. Bingo continues every Sunday evening at 8pm in the Massinass Community Centre.

Patrons please note that this months 50 Club Draw will take place at the Bingo Session in Dunfanaghy on this Sunday night the 8th May.

SOS for Photographs! Nicola is currently gathering photographs for the clubhouse. If anyone has ANY team photographs from winning senior, reserve, u21 or any underage teams in league/championship/Gaeltacht she would really appreciate if you let her know. All hard copies of the photos will be returned to you safely once we make a copy of them or likewise photos can be emailed to secretary.stmichaels.donegal@gaa.ie Please spread the word as the team photos required date back to 1967!! All help with this little project would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure is now stocking St Michaels club gear in children and adult sizes.

Initials can be embroidered on tops if requested in the shop.

St. Michael’s Minor Board

St. Michael’s Minor Board would like to thank everyone who helped with the Bed Push on Bank Holiday Monday last and thanks to everyone who contributed in any way.  Thanks to all drivers for their cooperation on the day.

Lá Na gClubanna

Lá Na gClubanna/Parish League Finals will take place this Sunday May 8th at 1pm.  Anyone who would like to sing as gaeilge or do Irish Dancing or play a musical instrument please contact Anne Marie on 0879454107.

Under 10’s

The training for the Under 10’s this Thursday evening, any queries contact Aidan on 0838017333.

Under 12’s

Training continues on Tuesday evening 3rd May.  Bus leaving Creeslough 5.15pm sharp. 3 euro for bus. And any queries contact Brandon on 0860765703.

First game of the league this Wednesday evening the 4th May.

U14s

St Michael’s played Milford at home at the Bridge last Monday evening and had a very convincing win; the best that the team have played so far this year, well done the boys. The semi final is scheduled for this Friday May 6th.

Training now takes place every FRIDAY evening at the Bridge @7pm. The bus is €3 and leaves Creeslough at 6.30pm.

U16s St. Michaels Under 16’s play Letterkenny Gaels or Naomh Mhuire this Friday evening May 6th.  Bus leaves Creeslough at 6.15pm and Dunfanaghy at 6.25pm.

Minors

The Minors played home last Wednesday evening in the League Semi Final beating Macumhails and recording a comfortable win.  The boys did not have a good first half but all played very well in the second half.  The boys are now scheduled to play St. Eunans in the League Final in Convoy.

Well Done

Well Done to Molly Roarty who was part of the under 16 Donegal team who played Monaghan in Castleblaney on Sunday evening last winning on a scoreline of 7-18 to 0-2.

Well done also to Ciara McGarvey and Marcella Dolan who were on the Donegal U-14 Team that defeated Armagh in Lurgan last Saturday, winning on a scoreline of 5-7 to 1-10.
