Show off your natural beauty with confidence is the message skincare brand IMEDEEN wants to send to Irish women.

In a recent survey carried out by the brand, it found that one third of Irish women won’t leave the house without make up.

Despite the need to cover up our natural beauty nationwide, 94% of women surveyed say they believe that other women look good without a full face of make-up, pointing to self-confidence issues when it comes to revealing a natural look.

40% of women say they feel most confident when they are fully made up and ready for a night out, which further confirms the need for make-up in order to feel their best.

Not surprisingly, according to respondents, a sense of confidence rates as one of the top three attributes to what makes a person beautiful.

The survey was undertaken by IMEDEEN as part of the brand’s Reveal Your Real campaign which, with the help of healthy lifestyle fan and model Roz Purcell, is encouraging Irish women to celebrate their natural beauty by taking care of their skin from the inside-out.

Rebecca Mines, spokesperson for IMEDEEN Ireland commented on the results: ‘’We know that Irish women are very attached to their make-up bags but also that so many of them want to have the confidence to ‘reveal their real’ a little more often. We are calling on women to strip back the make-up, and reveal their real. After all, 94% of them said they think other women look beautiful with a natural look.”

Asked if the campaign was a little harsh on those women who enjoy and want to wear makeup and don’t look like Roz, the spokesperson added: “But of course Roz is a stunning girl and takes great care of her skin, but it doesn’t happen by accident.

“She is a champion of the healthy lifestyle and taking care of herself, drinking lots of water, eating well and getting plenty of sleep. Combine that with taking IMEDEEN supplements as she does, the skin is in a much better condition, hydrated and nourished, and has a much more natural glow.

“This campaign is not about getting people to stop wearing make up. As Roz herself says, make up is there to enhance beauty and it’s fun to experiment with it and wear it. “The Reveal Your Real campaign is encouraging Irish women to take care of what’s underneath the make up though, so we don’t have to rely too much on it.

“Everyone has good and bad skin days, but with IMEDEEN supplements, it makes your canvas much better so make up goes on and often stays on better. It’s amazing, we all wear make up almost all of the time and don’t feel confident without it, and yet 94% of women think other women look great without make up on, it’s really a personal confidence thing.”

The research found that Irish women rely heavily on make-up products to look and feel good about themselves with over half (58%) of respondents stating they wear make-up ‘most of the time’ and 70% admitting to wishing they had better skin.

Despite wanting to spend more time caring for their skin, 75% of Irish women surveyed admit they spend just 30 minutes or less on their topical skincare routine each day. There are three IMEDEEN skincare supplements available, each tailored to a specific age range.
Derma One is formulated to work best on skin aged 25+, while Time Perfection is for 40+ and Prime Renewal is aimed at post-menopausal skin. Each have a different set of active ingredients that complement the skin and replenish vital nutrients.

When it comes to pressures to always look perfect, 40% of respondents over the age of 35 feel the pressure to do so, with an increase to 57% of women for those over 45 years.

Nearly two thirds (63%) of those surveyed say they feel a significant pressure to look more youthful and 63% say the media is the main source of this pressure. Of those surveyed 35% say that their confidence can be affected by a bad skin day or breakout while 29% say feeling and looking tired really affects how they feel about themselves on any given day.

IMEDEEN skincare tablets, when taken daily, are scientifically proven to help improve the skin’s quality and moisture balance levels, to maintain radiance and help ensure your skin is at its best which can allow women to reveal their real with confidence.
