A Donegal County Councillor has expressed his utter disgust at those responsible for littering his local area with bags of rubbish.

Micheál Cholm Mac Giolla Easbuig posted the image (above) on his Facebook timeline yesterday evening, and condemned those responsible.

The Independent councillor wrote, “This is an absolute disgrace, and shame on anyone who thinks it’s alright to throw your rubbish on the side of the road.

“These people have no respect for anyone, and they just expect someone else to clean it up for you, and at quite a cost to us the taxpayers might I add.

“All around our communities people work so, so hard to keep our countryside, villages and towns clean for those who live there, but it is important also that we keep our community areas clean for the tourists who come here.”

The dumping occurred close to the stunning Errigal Mountain, and the rubbish which included dirty nappies were lined along a scenic walkway

The councillor also confirmed that he has reported the incident to the council.
