Tir Chonaill Gaels Notes – 9th May 2016

McArdle Cup Final

Congratulations to Tir Chonaill Gaels Juniors on their hard fought win over St. Claret’s in the McArdle Cup Final at Colindale on Sunday afternoon. It was a closely contested first half with the game going from end to end. After a series of missed chances a well taken goal from Kieran Cunningham goal was the difference at the interval with the score line reading 1-03 to 0-03 at half-time. The intensity continued into the second half with the young guns managing to rack up a further three points; including a fine point from Donal Geraghty after some nice play and a further point from Killian Butler left the final score at 1-06 to 0-05. Congratulations to manager Paul Coggins, captain Ryan Kearney , backroom staff and to all the lads on the lifting of the silverware.

Seniors

The seniors lost out to a well organised St.Kiernan’s outfit in the semi-final of the Tipperary Cup at the weekend. The first half was a pretty even affair with both sides going in even at the break courtesy a goal from Eoin McGeehan at 0-06 to 1-03. The Kiernan’s dominated the second-half keeping the pressure on from throw-in to the final whistle leaving the final score at 1-14 to 1-04.
