The young Donegal lad died in Latvia.

The young Donegal lad died in Latvia.

A young Co Donegal boy has died while holidaying with his parents in Latvia.

The 3 year old boy, whose parents are from Lativa, but who was born and raised in
Buncrana, was with his family visiting his grandparents when the
tragedy happened.

Little Rolands Letins, who attended Cockhill Community Pre-School,
died following a drowning accident.

Roland’s parents, Janeks Kuzelis and Dace Letina, have lived in
Buncrana for several years, and they have one other son who is 11
years old.

A full investigation into the circumstances surrounding Roland’s death
has been launched.

The tragedy comes just weeks after Buncrana was plunged into mourning
following the deaths of five people in the drowning tragedy at
Buncrana Pier in March.

Staff and management at the Cockhill Community Pre-school say they are
numbed by the tragic loss of Rolands.

A spokesperson for the pre-school said: “Roland was a delightful
little boy, and it was a privilege to have him here with us.

“The management and staff of Cockhill Community Pre-school are
heartbroken at this tragic news. We are numbed by it.

“We have passed on our condolences to Roland’s parents and his family.”

It is understood that little Roland, who was visiting his maternal
grandparents in the town of Cesis, will be laid to rest in Latvia.
