unnamed-11Janine Boyle from Finn Valley AC became the third athlete from the club in recent weeks to attain a European Qualifiying standard for the European Youth Championships in Tiblisi in July.

Competing over 200m at Waterford she returned a time of 24.78 inside the required mark and also season’s best of 11.94 in the 100 just short of the required 11.90 so all indications are good of a positive season ahead.

In recent weeks Arlene Crossan, also coached by Shauna Carlin, got a Q mark in the 400mh 60.9 in France inside the mark of 62.00 required while Aaron Mc Glynn returned a time of 1.51. 95 over 8oo in Belfast last weekend well inside the required standard.

Other Valley athletes chasing the standard are James Kelly shot and Sommer Lecky in the high. Brendan O Donnell of Lifford/Strabane AC has the standard in the hammer.
