FAI CUP: HARPS KNOCKED OUT BUT ROVERS EARN SUPER DRAW FOR REPLAY

unnamedDUBLIN intermediate side Crumlin United have knocked Finn Harps out of the FAI Cup – but Letterkenny Rovers remain in the competition after an astonishing draw away to Athlone Town this evening.

Greg Moorehouse – the man who hit Rovers for a hat-trick in the 5-o win in the Aviva last weekend – hit the winner for Crumlin in Ballybofey tonight.

He struck in the 49th minute and Harps’ task got harder later in the half as Barry Molloy got two yellow cards in the space of four minutes and was sent off.

Harps threw everything at United but couldn’t get an equaliser.

It was a different story for Rovers who put their Aviva horror behind them to put in an impressive display away to Athlone.

Paul McVeigh put in a man of the match performance on an evening when Rovers could have – and probably should have – beaten their hosts.

But they will be happy with the 0-0.

They replay now on Tuesday at 6pm in Leckview.
