ENTERTAINMENT: Donegal fans of Garth Brooks are excited after the Country Western star indicated that he wants to return to Croke Park following the success of Bruce Springsteen’s two gigs at the venue.

Brooks was due to play in Croke Park, in June 2014, and incredibly had FIVE gigs sold out.

However, after objections made by residents in the Croke Park area, permission was refused for the five gigs to go ahead.

Instead, it was proposed that Brooks play three concerts, but the stubborn star refused to play any – unless he could play all five as initially proposed.

In the end, he cancelled all concerts, that decision left thousands of fans absolutely devastated.

However, The Boss was in town last weekend, and he rocked Croke Park on Friday and Sunday last weekend.

It is believed that Brooks is keen to try and arrange a return to Croke Park after seeing the success enjoyed by Springsteen last weekend.

Brooks’ US management have already been in touch with concert promoters with a view to organising new dates.

However, Aitken Promotions have stated that there are no plans at the moment.

When the star spoke to Patrick Kielty in April last year, the country star said he would like to return to Ireland to make it up to his fans.
