The world’s greatest ever fighter Muhammad Ali has been placed on life support machine.

A spokesman for the legendary fighter who was voted the greatest sportsman of the 20th century was put in intensive care – and is embroiled in his most courageous bout – for his life.

The children of the sporting icon have rushed to be at his bedside as doctors treating the former heavyweight champ have told them they fear he “is near the end”.

Social media has been awash with those praying that Ali pulls through and wins the toughest fight of his life since news of his grave condition broke earlier this evening.
