Darly has found a new home! .

Darly has found a new home!

A dog so devastated it refused to leave the chair of her deceased owner – has found a new home!

We shared the story of Darly, a beautiful 9 year-old Labrador that was left heartbroken following the death of her elderly owner.

Darly was so upset, she wouldn’t leave her owner’s chair, and was waiting for her owner to return.

The elderly person’s family were unable to look after Darly, and a search was launched online to find a new loving home for the dog.

We were asked to share the story by Burtonport Animal Rescue and the response we had was overwhelming, with the story gaining over 60,000 views!

Linda Ui Ghallchoir, a family member of Darly’s owner posted this message on Facebook last night.

Linda posted, “Darly’s family are happy to report that we think we’ve found Darly’s new home forever home, with a new family and some doggy friends.

“Burtonport animal rescue want to do a home check and will arrange from there.

“Will let you know how it goes and hopefully it’ll all work out.

Thanks everyone for the interest and support, we’ll be sad to say goodbye to Darly but excited for her new home if it works out.

“Thanks to donegal daily for sharing and burtonport animal rescue-bar for helping us.”

Now there’s a good story to kick-off the Bank Holiday Weekend. 🙂
