FEATURES: There has been sadness expressed following the decision to call time on a annual charity cycle which has raised over €600,000 for cancer research.

The annual Letterkenny-to-Sligo charity cycle will this year celebrate its 25th year, but unfortunately it will be the last.

Paddy Delap, the man behind the fundraising initiative has announced that the cycle will cease after this year.

The amazing charity cycle has raised a staggering €600,000 over the years for cancer research, but Paddy is hanging up the saddle.

However, Delap is calling on those to get back on the saddle one last time, and raise another huge amount of money for cancer research.

Delap told Donegal Daily, “After 25 years, I’ve finally hanging up my bicycle clips!

“The 25th and final Sligo-to-Letterkenny Fun Cycle Event will take place on Sunday 3rd July.

“I’m calling on all cyclists to get in the saddle one last time and help to raise essential funds for Cancer Research.

“There is no entry fee but sponsorship and donations will be gratefully received.”

If you want further details on the event then contact Paddy Delap on 086 385 9696.
