HSEThe HSE has issued a statement on the news that no addiction counsellor is currently available to this under 18 years of age in Donegal.

The statement has revealed that the Addiction Services to people under 18 years is temporarily not available.

It says this is due to the retirement of the Youth Addiction Counsellor.

The statement says “A recruitment process is underway for a suitably qualified person to provide a replacement service.

“The HSE is also in negotiations with other services and professionals outside of the Donegal area to provide this service in the interim period.

“The Addiction Services will continue to provide services to young people over the age of 18 and their families.”
