DONEGAL DAILY’S COSMETIC MEDICAL COLUMNIST: TIME TO BANISH THAT FROWN!

DONEGAL DAILY’S COSMETIC MEDICAL COLUNIST: ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS – WHAT ARE THEY?

Over time the normal movement of our facial muscles naturally causes creases and folds.

At first these skin creases are seen only with movement (dynamic lines), but as we age these can become permanent lines or deep wrinkles (static lines).

Anti-wrinkle injections (commonly known as Botox®) work by relaxing the facial muscles to temporarily reduce their movement under the skin to soften the appearance of deep facial lines. Injections last on average 3-4 months.

One of the most common areas to be treated on the face is the frown area (or ‘eleven’ lines between the eyebrows). Overactivity of this area can cause some people to look angry or tired when they are neither.

The crow’s feet area around the eyes is also commonly treated with anti-wrinkle injections.

Dr. Róisín Fitzgerald of Letterkenny’s private Ballsbridge Medical Aesthetic Clinic has completed advanced training in the UK (including London’s Harley Street) in anti-wrinkle injections for the face and neck, as well as other treatments including dermal fillers.

For further information and FAQs see http://www.ballsbridgeclinic.ie or Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/BallsbridgeClinic/ .

Why not treat yourself to a free no obligation consultation to find out if anti-wrinkle injections might be for you.
