DOUBTS OVER MCGLYNN AND MCELHINNEY AHEAD OF ULSTER SFC SEMI-FINAL

Frank McGlynn hasn’t trained since Donegal’s win over Fermanagh.

SPORT: Donegal have doubts over key duo Frank McGlynn and Martin McElhinney ahead of their Ulster SFC semi-final with Monaghan.

Rory Gallagher confirmed that neither player have trained since sustaining injuries in the victory over Fermanagh.

Gallagher made the reference to the injured duo after responding to ‘gamesmanship’ claims which were made by Pete McGrath in the aftermath of Donegal’s win.

Gallagher told The Irish News, “We are all very heated during games and after games.

“We had two players, Martin McElhinney and Frank McGlynn who left the field with injuries and neither of them have trained since.

“Maybe Peter did not realise that at the time.

“I do not agree with Pete’s comments. He was referring a lot to the second-half but with the quick turnaround we did not refer too much to the Fermanagh game.”

Donegal were defeated by Monaghan in last year’s Ulster final by a single point.

Many pundits are tipping Monaghan to edge out Donegal again this year when the sides meet tomorrow evening in Breffni Park, Cavan.

What are your thoughts? Can Donegal reach their sixth Ulster SFC final in-a-row?
