GLENCOLMCILLE AGRI SHOW TO ATTRACT HUGE CROWDS AGAIN

sheep dogThe Glencolmcille Agricultural Show, Sponsored by Byrnes Foodstores, takes place this year on Sunday July 31st.

Entry books are now available in local shops or by contacting the Show Secretary, Dorothy McGinley on 087 340 9731 or by Facebook (Glencolmcille show).

The show will have some new categories this year including a Dog section, Magee of Donegal are sponsoring the traditional home craft section, and the winner of this, qualifies to the All Ireland final at the Ballyshannon Agricultural Show.

Hegarty Construction and PM Ltd are sponsoring €1000 for Cattle and Sheep Classes.

Closing date for entries is Friday July 8th pick up points have been arranged in The Mart in Glen and the Carrick youth centre between 6 and 9 pm on Friday July 8th and Byrnes stores Kilcar, or by post to the Show Secretary.

Stallholders are welcome but must be booked in advance. We are currently compiling the Show entry booklet and anyone who would like to place an advertisement can contact the Secretary.

All local businesses and Community groups are invited to put forward a candidate for The Show Queen, contact Martin Cunningham, 087 7677116. The committee are expecting record number of entries this year and are confident that this will be the biggest Show to date.

The annual sheep dog trials will take place on Bank holiday Monday August 1st This will feature both local and open trials anyone interested can contact Paddy Hegarty on 087 638 6612.
