Donegal holidaymakers now have a brand new destination choice after leading Tour Operators Falcon and Thomson launched the inaugural flight on their new Costa Dorada service direct from Ireland West Airport Knock.

With a weekly flight every Tuesday until the 16th of August, holidaymakers throughout the West of Ireland have the opportunity to discover the ‘Golden Coast’ from their local airport.

Costa Dorada is home to the popular resorts of Salou, La Pineda and Cambrils while also on the doorstep of Barcelona.

Speaking at the launch of the inaugural service, Charlotte Brenner, Marketing Manager for Falcon and Thomson, said “We are delighted to welcome the first passengers on our inaugural service to Costa Dorada from Ireland West Airport.

“We are delighted to see a full flight of passengers from all over the West and North West region departing on the first flight and believe Costa Dorada serviced through REUS airport will prove a very popular choice for local holidaymakers. Over the last number of years Costa Dorada including the resorts of Salou, La Pineda and Cambrils has become a firm favourite from Ireland due to its short flight time, excellent range of quality hotels and apartments and attractions for all the family”.

Welcoming the inaugural service, Donal Healy, Head of Marketing & Route Development at Ireland West Airport said they are delighted to welcome the first flight to Costa Dorada with Falcon and Thomson.

“It’s great to see a packed flight for the inaugural service and bookings have been very strong for the programme for the rest of the summer so much so that the programme is already on sale for summer 2017’.

Set along the beautiful Costa Dorada or the ‘Golden Coast as it is commonly known, the three main resorts of Salou, La Pineda and Cambrils offer an excellent choice for families, couples and adults alike. From the bustling Salou with its Palm lined prom running along a beautiful sandy beach to the more traditional fishing village of Cambrils, while La Pineda boasts its own golden beach, waterpark and low key nightlife.
All resorts are on the doorstep of the famous theme park PortAventura, where kids of all ages can enjoy roller coaster rides and some wild water adventures at the Caribbean themed PortAventura Aquatic Park. Alternatively a day trip to Barcelona, which is located only 90 minutes away, will satisfy the culture vulture with quirky art and architecture and football fans with Nou Camp!

Falcon and Thomson, part of the TUI Group, is a leading tour operator specialising in package holidays tailored to suit the needs of modern Irish families. The company has built its long standing reputation on offering Irish holidaymakers quality hotels and apartments including its exclusive Holiday Villages, SplashWorld Resorts, Kids Clubs, Sensatori and Family Life range that aren‘t available from anyone else in Ireland.
