There is major traffic disruption in Letterkenny following a four vehicle collision at the Port Bridge this lunchtime.

A vehicle belonging to a local bus company has been involved in the collision with three other vehicles.

It is not known at this stage how the accident happened but investigators are at the scene.

At least two people have been taken from the scene by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital.

The condition of those injured is not yet known.

One of the cars ended up on the island separating the two traffic lanes.

The crash had led to serious traffic disruption throughout the town.

Many vehicles leaving the town are now taking the Old Leck Road and this has sparked further traffic disruption.

Traffic is bumper to bumper on the Leck Road.
