HISTORY GIRLS AS GAELSCOIL ADHAMHNÁIN WIN COUNTY GAELIC FOOTBALL TITLE

unnamed-1Gaelscoil Adhamhnáin girls made history this year by winning their first ever Division 1 Cumann na mBunscoil title.

The Letterkenny team managed by school principal, Colm Breathnach and teacher, Cliona Dunne were impressive winners over Scoil Íosagáin, Buncrana.

This is the second title won by Gaelscoil girls this year as they also won the Letterkenny and District League earlier in the year.

It was a fine team performance, however, special mention must go to Shannon Cunningham who posted many of the Gaelscoil scores. Shannon was part of the Co Donegal U14 team this year as was team-mate Sinéad Mac Intyre who gave another great performance in defence.

Shannon was ably assisted in the scores by Erin Doherty, Ciara Devenney and Annie Mc Clintock who all got on the score sheet.

Shauna Higgins worked tirelessly in midfield, whilst the defence was led by Sinéad Mac Intyre and Aoibhe Harrigan especially in the second half when playing against a strong breeze.
