PUBLIC MEETING TONIGHT IN LETTERKENNY REGARDING CHANGES TO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUNDING

There is a meeting in Letterkenny this evening hosted by the Donegal Public Participation Network focusing on the changes to community development funding.

The seminar is free of charge and of vital importance to all the community organisations across Donegal working hard to make the communities more inclusive, safe and sustainable.

The main speaker is Ann Irwin – the joint National Coordinator of Community Work Ireland, a role she has had in a paid and voluntary capacity since 2008.

She is responsible for many of the C.W.I. publications and co-authored ‘In Whose Interests? Exploring the Impact of Competitive Tendering and Procurement on Social Inclusion and Community Development in Ireland’.

She also works on a part-time basis with Galway City Community Network, the P.P.N. in Galway city, and is the former Policy Officer with the National Women’s Council of Ireland. She is a Social Researcher, Strategic Planner and Policy Analyst specialising in anti-poverty, regeneration and anti-discrimination work.

The meeting is being held at Dillon’s Hotel, Letterkenny, at 6.30pm.
