GET ALONG TO THE 40TH ANNUAL BURTONPORT SUMMER FESTIVAL

BURTONPORT FESTIVALThe seaside village of Burtonport is celebrating its 40th Annual Summer Festival from 15th -23rd July.

Renowned for its action packed programme of events, this year will be no different. Lots of activities for all age groups with emphasis on family participation.

Enjoy the very best of free outdoor music with James Peake, Whistlin Donkeys, Shawn Cuddy, Irish Brigade, Mad Dog Macrea to name but a few.

Highlights of the week include Donegal Grand Prix 5K Road Race, Open Bridge Tournament, Craft Auction, Community Parade, Heritage Tours plus loads of fun children’s events.

The big event of the year will take place on Wednesday 20th with a Guinness World Record attempt to have the largest Jive Dance with the most people dancing continuously for 5 mins.

Registration for this event will take place from 8:30pm. All dancers in place by 10pm. Josie & Charlene Murray, All Ireland Jiving Champions will help to co-ordinate the record attempt and dancing will be to Lee Matthews & his band. Entry fee €3 per adult €2 u-16, with donation going to the RNLI.

This year’s festival will be open by founder member and former councillor David Alcorn. David has made a major voluntary contribution to the locality, involved with many community projects as well as spearheading the annual festival since its inception in 1977.
