WOMAN RUSHED TO HOSPITAL BY HELICOPTER AFTER FREAK FALL FROM HORSE

A woman was rushed by rescue helicopter to hospital after falling off a horse on a Co Donegal beach.

The woman was horse-riding on Muckross Head, near Kilcar this afternoon when the freak accident happened.

Killybegs Coastguard were alerted and they in turn contacted the Rescue 118 helicopter based in Sligo.

The woman was treated at the scene by NowDoc as well as paramedics from the Rescue 118 before being airlifted to hospital.

She is being at Sligo General Hospital for her injuries.

The extent of those injuries aren’t known.
