kayleigh bonnerKayleigh Bonner is a makeup artist from Dungloe. She studied makeup artistry in LA College of Creative Arts and is now putting her skills to work as she shares her creative makeup ideas on her Facebook and Instagram.

She also makes videos which break down complex techniques used in makeup artistry – teaching us all how to achieve the unique looks she pioneers.

This is Kayleigh’s Donegal…

(1) What is your favourite place in Donegal and why?

My own home – I’m quite a home bird and I like my own comfort.

(2) If you could change one thing about Donegal what would it be?

More things to do in the area I live in. There’s not a lot teenagers & young people can do in the area so a cinema or an amusements place would be great.

(3) Who is the one person in Donegal that you look up to and why?

My dad because he’s hardworking, always guides me in the right direction & would do anything for me and my family.

(4) Daniel O’Donnell or Packie Bonner?

Daniel O’Donnell

(5) What has been Donegal’s proudest moment in recent years?

Winning the All-Ireland Final back in 2012

(6) What was Donegal’s saddest moment?

Probably getting beat in the All-Ireland final in 2014.

(7) What is your favourite Donegal-made product?

Football Special

(8) Who is Donegal’s most successful businessperson in your opinion?

In my opinion, my friend Lisa Colgan and her mother Anne Colgan. They’ve just opened a little boutique in Donegal Town, Get That Trend. They’ve been running this boutique online for a few years but just opened up their own boutique and they’re doing very well!

Also my dad & my aunt who own Hickey, Clarke & Langan Insurance Brokers in Letterkenny. The company has come on very well and has become very successful!

(9) Who is your favourite Donegal sportsperson of all time?

Michael Murphy

(10) What is your favourite Donegal restaurant?

The Bayview Bar!

(11) What is your favourite Donegal saying or expression?

‘There’ll be wigs on the green’

(12) Will Donegal win the All Ireland this year?

Who knows? It would be a great lift if they did!

(13) What is your favourite Donegal food?

The Chicken & Bacon Caesar Salad from The Bayview Bar is my favourite! Their Sticky Toffee Pudding is also another one of my favourites!

(14) Is there anything that really annoys you about Donegal or its people?

Not really!

(15) If you had a million euro to spend on improving something in Donegal, what would it be?

Probably something make-up related. Like a shop for Inglot, Mac, etc. That would be a dream!

(16) Where’s the most unusual place you’ve logged on to Donegal Daily?

Florida!

(17) Is there anything in particular that inspired you to pursue a career in makeup artistry?

I used to always enjoy watching YouTube videos on make-up tutorials before college and before I even intended on even pursuing a career in it. The more I got interested in makeup, the more I then considered it as a career!

(18) Is there anything about Donegal that you are very proud of?

The people in the area, they always come together in a time of need which is something I’m proud of.
