Letterkenny man Jerome Keeney caught this rare sight at the town’s Port Bridge at the weekend.

Keen amateur photographer Jerome was out walking on Friday night when he spotted this Bottle-nose dolphin and its calf in the River Swilly.

The dolphins are common around Donegal’s coast but it is very unusual to see them so far inland.

The dolphins took advantage of a high tide to explore up the River Swilly
