COMMUNITY ALERT: A number of parents have expressed worry and have asked other parents to be vigilant following TWO alleged attempted child abductions in the Letterkenny and Muff areas in recent days.

It has been alleged that a man terrifyingly attempted to get two young girls into his car at different locations in Donegal.

The attempted abductions took place in Muff, while the other attempt was made in Letterkenny in the last few days.

The man has been described as having grey hair – and was driving a wine coloured 00DL registered Opel Astra vehicle.

An online social media campaign has been launched in an attempt to inform parents all over Donegal about these worrying incidents.

Bernie Mc Gonagle posted the following post on her Facebook timeline.

“Mother’s and father’s out there please make sure your children are aware of a wine opel astra 00 dl.

“A grey haired man has attempted to get two young young girls into his car.

“This man has tried this in Muff and Letterkenny – so please be aware of it.

“It has been brought to the intention of the local Gardaí also, but please talk to your children.”
