A beach wheelchair for people with mobility impairments is now available at Rathmullan beach and will be stored at the Rathmullan Sailing Club.

The wheelchair has been specially built to make it easier for families to navigate through the terrain of the the beaches.

This is the first such wheelchair in Co Donegal and it is hoped others may be deployed.

For use of the beach wheelchair, notice must be given and it will be made available, the contact person is Aengus Kennedy on (086) 812 3019.

Donegal County Council, have thanked the Loughs’ Agency for this very valuable provision.

DCC are hoping that the beach wheelchair can be utilised and enjoyed by people and families visiting the Rathmullan Beach this summer.

And it is hoped that the beach wheelchair can be utilised as a proactive and positive commodity for all beach users.
