Family friendly slimming starts here

Family life has changed so much over the past 30 years. Gone are the days when mum stayed home to cook, clean and walk the children to school.

Now for a lot it is early starts, breakfast in the car and, at the end of a long day, collapsing in front of the TV or computer with a takeaway. The result: we are facing an obesity crisis – most worryingly, among our children.

At slimming world we understand the need for a family friendly approach – and that’s where Food Optimising comes in. It’s a healthy way of eating and living, based on making small, simple changes to how you shop, cook and eat. It doesn’t just help you lose weight – it lays healthy foundations for the family that last a lifetime.

So if you think losing weight means eating ‘diet’ meals on your own and cooking ‘normal’ meals for the rest of the family, Slimming World will amaze you! Weather its mum, dad, nan (or the whole lot of you) coming to group we guarantee you’ll enjoy fabulous and filling food that everyone will love – from toddlers to teens.

Helping our Young Adults!

Our family affair programme helps young people at a time in their lives when they start to take more control over their eating and exercise decisions. With guidance from a GP or nurse it offers free membership to 11-15 year olds who attend group with a parent or adult member who has the main responsibility for their meals at home. Family affair helps young adults make healthier choices, and learn new habits that will stay with them for life. 16-17 year olds are also welcome into our groups and pay a reduced fee.

Four reasons Slimming Worlds a family favourite!

With support from your Consultant and fellow members, you’ll soon find you’re making changes that make a big difference. You’ll find:

You can eat and enjoy! With Food Optimising’s Extra Easy plan, you can fill up on everyday foods that are filling and naturally low in calories, like fruit and veg, lean meat, poultry and fish, pasta and rice. We call the Free Food because you can eat them in unlimited amounts.

Nothing’s off the menu. We know that a little of what you fancy does you good, so with Food Optimising you can enjoy your favourite things every day, whether its’s chocolate, crisps or a glass of wine. We’ll help you make the best choices when you eat out too.

You will save money as well as losing lbs. At Slimming World, you’ll swap expensive ready meals and takeaways for simple home-cooked dishes the whole family will enjoy, and you’ll pick up money saving hints and tips in group every week.

You’ll get more active. Our Body Magic programme is a simple way for the whole family to get moving more. What counts? Anything you like, frisbee at the park, active games on the console, walking to school, swimming.. If its a way of getting active that works for your family, its Body Magic!

To find out more about how Food Optimising can work for you and all the family, you can contact one of your local consultants via their facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/slimmingworldindonegal/) or just come along to any of their groups.

Men & women are welcome in all groups
