JOB VACANCY: A busy Donegal tourist office is on the lookout for an Interim Manager to join their dynamic, innovative and hardworking team.

The vacant position is available in Buncrana Tourist Office – which is one of the busiest offices in Donegal.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

Job Title: Interim Manager

Location: Tourist Office Buncrana

Position Reports to: Board of Management

Job Purpose Summary:

The Interim Manager will drive all marketing related activities including the development of marketing material, representation at trade and consumer promotional shows & events, PR and visitor services.

Key Criteria:

  • Human Resources & Management
  • Business to Business sales & marketing experience
  • Knowledge of Tourism within the Inishowen Peninsula
  • Project Management Experience

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Organising all of the administrative activities that facilitate the smooth running of an office
  • Delegating work to staff and managing their workload and output
  • Promoting staff development and training
  • Carrying out staff appraisals, managing performance and disciplining staff
  • Organising and chairing meetings with staff
  • Ensuring adequate staff levels to cover for absences and peaks in workload
  • Co-ordinate and attend trade & consumer promotional events
  • Be familiar with national tourism promotional activities in conjunction with Failte Ireland, Tourism Ireland & Northern Ireland Tourist Board.
  • Liaise with tourism industry and government representatives to promote local tourism businesses
  • Escort and liaise with media /industry operators in the planning and implementation of familiarization tours
  • Maintain the monitoring systems for tourism and marketing campaigns
  • Oversee correct research, analyse and compile travel/tourism statistics
  • Perform tourist information services and other related duties as required
  • Support up line staff where needed which may involve unsociable hours
