The funerals of the two friends killed in yesterday’s tragic road crash outside Letterkenny will take place on Saturday.

Barney McGinley, 28 and Dermot Boyle, 19, died when their car crashed into a van on the dual carriageway close to the Trimragh Junction at 4.45am.

Mr Boyle’s remains were taken from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest at Mountain Top at noon today to respose at his home on Cullion Road.

He will be laid to rest in New Leck cemetery following 12.00 Requiem Mass in the Church of the Irish Martyrs.

Mr McGinley’s remains were removed from the same Chapel of Rest to his home in Glenwood at 4.00pm this afternoon.

He will be laid to rest in New Leck cemetery following 3.00pm Requiem Mass in St Eunan’s Cathedral.

A huge presence is expected at both funerals of the two young men.
